🖤❤️💚 BLACK HISTORY MONTH ❤️💚🖤 They tried to erase us. We became unforgettable. They tried to silence us. We built microphones. They tried to break us. We built movements. Black history is not just something we read about… It’s something we live every single day. Because the struggle did

History Of Juneteenth

Honoring Freedom. Celebrating Culture. Strengthening Community.

Juneteenth Day Beloit 2026 is more than a celebration — it is a reflection of history, resilience, and community unity.

Juneteenth, observed annually on June 19, commemorates the day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth serves as a powerful reminder that freedom delayed is still freedom worth honoring, protecting, and advancing.

A Rising Queens Tradition Since 2021

Since 2021, Rising Queens Inc. has proudly organized Juneteenth Day Beloit as a space for education, remembrance, and joy. What began as a vision to honor Black history has grown into a meaningful community tradition that brings together families, elders, youth, artists, entrepreneurs, and partners from across Beloit and surrounding areas.

Rising Queens is committed to ensuring Juneteenth Day Beloit remains inclusive, accessible, and deeply rooted in community values — honoring the past while creating space for connection and celebration today.

Built by the Community, for the Community

Juneteenth Day Beloit is intentionally designed to feel welcoming and reflective of the people it serves. It is a place where:

  • Families gather to celebrate culture and history

  • Youth learn the meaning of freedom, pride, and resilience

  • Black-owned businesses and local creatives are uplifted

  • Music, food, education, and storytelling come together

This celebration represents the heartbeat of the community — vibrant, connected, and resilient.
