#OneBeloit
Beloit’s 4th annual JUNETEENTH is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. It is now recognized as a National Federal holiday, ceremonial holiday, or a day of observance. It gives Rising Queens immense pleasure to bring this phenomenal historical festival for the Third year in a row to our community here in Beloit. This is a celebration in recognition of that time in history when the country made a stand to do what was right and abolish slavery and the celebration continues. Juneteenth is supported not only as a tribute of African American freedom, but as an example and encouragement of self-development and respect for all cultures. As we live and grow in our community, when given opportunities to encourage community support, we hope all are willing. Come and help celebrate the rich dimensions of diversity in Beloit. Come experience a family filled day of outstanding entertainment and children's activities, all FREE to the entire community. Also, come and partake in some delicious food and see our vendors as they display items promoting their entities. This event offers an occasion to learn about the diversity of people and cultures within our area. In cities across the country, people of all races, nationalities and religions are joining hands to truthfully acknowledge this period in our history that has shaped our country. We invite you to join us as we all work together to “Embrace, Celebrate, Educate, and Empower” the diversity and culture of Beloit, WI.
